Problem Overview

In many regions across the world, especially rural or under-resourced areas, students lack access to high-quality teaching materials and engaging learning content. Traditional video production for education is expensive, time-consuming, and often culturally disconnected from the learners' context.

With the rise of generative AI, there is an opportunity to create scalable, localised educational video content that adapts to learners' needs while maintaining pedagogical quality. However, challenges remain in balancing content accuracy, contextual relevance, and accessibility under limited infrastructure.

Challenge Statement

How might we design an AI-powered video generation system that produces accurate, engaging, and contextually appropriate educational content to support learners in resource-scarce environments?

Scope & Focus

Target Users:

Teachers, NGOs, local educational authorities, and students in regions with limited access to formal educational resources.

Possible Solutions:

Lightweight AI video generators, text-to-video lesson creation tools, curriculum-aligned visual explainers, or adaptive local-language video tutors.

Key Elements to Consider

  • Low-Bandwidth Accessibility: Ensure device compatibility for offline or unstable internet conditions.
  • Fact-Checking & Quality: Integrate mechanisms for quality assurance to prevent misinformation.
  • Cultural Adaptability: Design for cultural and linguistic adaptability to serve diverse regional audiences.
  • Human Oversight: Maintain transparency in AI-generated content and allow human oversight or editing.

Desired Outcomes

  • A prototype demonstrating how AI can generate scalable, contextually appropriate educational videos for resource-scarce environments.
  • A 5-minute video and pitch deck explaining your approach, technical implementation, and how your solution addresses accessibility and quality challenges.

⚠️ Important: BOTH Prototype and Video are essential!
